Back to School Support Program

Program Name: Back to School Support Program

Duration: August – September 2025

Location: 5 public elementary schools in Brooklyn, New York, USA

Beneficiaries: Approximately 1,050 students from low-income families

Background

Some public elementary schools in Brooklyn serve communities with limited financial resources, and each year students lack basic school supplies at the start of term. Viontra Capital’s New York office decided to provide practical support to local education.

Program Details

  • Company allocated US$28,000 to purchase school supply kits (backpacks, stationery, calculators, etc.).
  • On August 28, 12 employees used a workday to help schools distribute materials to students.
  • Donated one basic teaching tablet to each classroom for use in math and science lessons.

Outcomes

  • 1,050 students received complete school supply kits.
  • All 5 schools reported noticeably higher attendance and classroom participation in the first week.
  • School leadership expressed strong interest in continued cooperation.

Next Steps

The program will be incorporated into our annual community support initiatives and continued in 2026.

Winter Care Initiative for Migrant Workers

Program Name: Winter Care Initiative for Migrant Workers

Duration: October – November 2025

Location: Workers’ dormitories near various construction sites in Singapore

Beneficiaries: Approximately 720 migrant construction workers

Background

Night-time temperatures in Singapore can be low, and some migrant construction workers lack adequate warm clothing. Viontra Capital’s Singapore office decided to provide essential winter items to nearby worksites.

Program Details

  • Company allocated S$22,000 to purchase 720 fleece jackets and 720 pairs of thermal socks.
  • On November 9, 10 employees visited 3 dormitories to distribute items and briefly spoke with worker representatives.
  • Additionally provided 300 packs of basic cold medicine and 300 hot-water bottles.

Outcomes

  • 720 workers received winter warmth kits.
  • On-site feedback indicated high appreciation for the practicality of the items.
  • Several dormitory managers expressed gratitude and interest in staying in touch.

Next Steps

The initiative has been added to the Singapore office’s annual community care calendar and will be expanded as needed in 2026.
